I’m willing to bet that you didn’t know the Star Spangled Banner had more verses than just what you hear at the ball game.
Most people bellowing the national anthem at the top of their lungs don’t even know the song has three more verses filled with grim, blood-soaked imagery about washing out the pollution of fleeing slaves and hiring mercenaries.
